Refusing to respond! Give NO answer
We read from Job 15: 2-6 “A wise man wouldn’t answer with such empty talk!
You are nothing but a windbag.
3The wise don’t engage in empty chatter.
What good are such words?
4Have you no fear of God,
no reverence for him?
5Your sins are telling your mouth what to say.
Your words are based on clever deception.
6Your own mouth condemns you, not I.
Your own lips testify against you.
Tools to combat offense:
1. Take every thought captive
2. Put on the full armor of God
3. Don’t answer back {Empty chatter is very different from productive conversation}
4.Do not engage
5. Don’t let your mouth be driven by sin
6. Know what your triggers are {and deal with them ~ self examination and healing work}
7.Unsubscribe from your regular clutter {reassuring issues are a lack of maintenance}
8.Replace the thoughts you’re taking captive with positive thoughts and the word. Once cleaned if it’s not replaced evil will fill it!
9. A wise / soft answer turns away wrath
See the offense as poo! Not only do you not want tp pick it up, you don’t even want to step in it.
Questions:
How can these tools change the way you handle and manage your daily encounters with people? How much freer would you be if you started to apply these strategies? Remember, God said He will “TEACH” us how to have good success. In every area of our lives…we have a human role to play. God does super natural things. Humans do natural things. So, it won’t be easy but it is simple. Put in the strategic work to remain offense free and regularly declutter your heart home… you’ll find good success in this area.
