How I went from broke to abundant

I could start by telling you about the day my life spiraled into chaos, but I’ll save that for another time. Here’s the short version: my then-husband emptied our bank accounts, shut off our power, and traded me in for a brand new truck. Yes, you heard that right. I was left for a truck. It was devastating, but today, I’m incredibly grateful for that interruption. It was a turning point in my life.

First thing you must know is that life will throw unexpected interruptions your way. Many will feel like your world is falling apart. But, looking back, you’ll often be grateful for those changes. If you had known then what you know now, you might have even initiated the change yourself! So, thank God for the blow-ups you didn’t see coming. They are often for your protection. That day, I learned a crucial lesson about depending on human beings. Humans are fallible, and relying solely on them for your happiness and security is a surefire plan for disruption. Live your dreams with urgency! Do it fast and do it now!

Dream One: Financial Independence

That experience taught me the importance of having some savings set aside for when life happens. So, I began my first dream. Fast forward to years later, I had some money saved and knew that dream building requires money, time, and determination. Married now to an amazing husband, I wasn’t worried about being left alone, but I was driven. I wanted to leave a legacy, contribute to my family’s well-being, and make an impact on the world.

The Birth of a Business

With extra goat’s milk from our farm and a desire for healthier products for my family, I turned my soap-making hobby into a business. I went all in, and my goat soap business took off. But, I lacked business acumen and thought like a homeschool mom, not the woman I am today. I didn’t level up, skill up, or stand out. Instead, I faded into self-doubt, insecurity, and anger. I was determined not to change, but change is exactly what I needed to level up and stand out.

Embracing Change

Change is how we transform into the person capable of living the dream. I was stuck between who I was, who I wanted to be, and the woman I was showing up as in that moment. I had always been an avid journaler, but my entries were filled with fears and anger. Until one day, I had a revelation: I could become the architect of my destiny. I started asking myself hard questions and reflecting daily. I realized that busying myself with lower-level activities was holding me back.
