Ever feel stuck in skin you no longer want to be in?
As I’m prepping for another round of the “Finding Me” workshop, I’ve been reflecting on how easy it is for us to feel bound to a plot or storyline simply because “that’s the way it’s always been.” But is that really true? Are we truly stuck, prisoners to the roles we play for our families, communities, or “so-called purpose”?
Consider for a moment how often you’ve thought, “I’m so ready to do something else, move somewhere, be someone else,” but felt stuck. Everyone expects you to show up as the woman you’ve always been. Sure, they might allow you some growth, but the theme seems to be: don’t change, just do “YOU” better.
But is there room for a plot twist in life? I believe there is! The problem is that we’re often too afraid of what that plot twist might look like for us. It seems like a big deal to hit those who know us, love us, and rely on us with a plot twist. But have you considered that on the other side of change, there could be a whole new game? You might love the skin you’d live in if you were brave enough to invite in a new storyline, a new chapter, and a potential happily ever after.
