Mark 11:21–26 — Weekly Reflection Prompt
Let’s sit with Jesus’ words this week a little longer. In Mark 11:21–26, He teaches something bold — not just about mountains, but about mouths.
Peter notices the fig tree withered.
Jesus doesn’t talk about the tree.
He talks about faith
and then He talks about words.“Have faith in God… Whoever says to this mountain… and does not doubt in his heart but believes… it will be done for him.”
Here’s our question for the week:
What are you SAYING?
Not out loud…
but underneath.
In the quiet.
In your frustration.
In your fear.
In your daily self-talk.And even deeper:
Does your internal chatter match the faith you say you believe?
Jesus ties faith, forgiveness, and confession all in one breath.
Not because He wants us to “try harder”…
but because what we say reveals what we truly trust.So here are your reflection questions for the week:
1. What “mountain” in your life is waiting for a different confession?
Is it your health?
Your calling?
Your finances?
Your relationships?2. What have you been saying about that situation — even if quietly?
Does it agree with what God has promised?
Or with what fear has whispered?**3. If Jesus sat across from you today and said,
“Daughter, speak to it…”
what would He be inviting you to say?**4. What do you need to forgive or release so your faith can breathe again?
Jesus ends the whole teaching by tying faith to forgiveness…
because nothing strangles faith like a clenched heart.This week, take one verse from the passage, write it down, and let it shape your internal dialogue.
