Studying the Bible and spending time alone with the Lord can be a deeply enjoyable experience. It’s a time to reflect, meditate, and lean into gaining a greater understanding of God and His words to you. Allow yourself the luxury of slowing down and absorbing every ounce of insight from what you read.
Proverbs 4:7 tells us, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” There’s no sense in spending your precious time reading if you’re not aiming for understanding. Challenges to read through the Bible in a year are great, but I urge you to read with the goal of understanding. That’s what will be truly life-changing.
May you become hungry for more understanding, thirsty for revelation, and intentional about extracting every bit of wisdom from your study. Let your time of reading and Bible study be as sweet as sipping lemonade on a sunny day. Here’s to squeezing every drop of goodness!
