The BG Bible study Framework
Quick tip bible study rule: Read, wonder and plunder!
1. First day read the chapter, scripture, or verse… Just read it!
2. Day two, wonder! Journal, meditate and just ponder what it speaks to you. Make sure you write! Even rewrite the scripture at times. Something happens between the brain and pen when you write.
3. Plunder! “Steal” digest or Dig into all the different translation, definitions and commentaries you can digest with understanding. Even have conversations. Ask questions and don’t forget to ask the Holy Spirit. He wants you to seek understanding. Go after it like it’s your life. In times of war people would typically go in and steal goods. Go in and take understanding by force. Get radical about understanding.
It’s better to know fewer scriptures and really understand the ones you do know.
Start all over again!

Also there’s a proverb for every day of the month. Try reading a proverb a day. Switch the translation every month. Apply the same method. Read, wonder, plunder!
I’ve provided a month’s worth of 10-minute Bible study pages so you can try this method! If you
like it, start a journal using this method or check www.tamaramarcella.org for some other options!
As your study life grows you can add notes to your character reflection section. Chart how the word and your bible study time has impacted your life, love and how you relate to God. The changes it makes in you in relation to your community, work life and calling. Take time to search your heart in your time of wonder and evaluate how it changes you.
Lastly, at the start of every year before you get busy, chart out a plan for year long growth. Plan to study 2-4 topics a year. Chart out a reading plan for books of the bible you have yet to explore.
Remember, success lays within strong systems. Create a system for Bible study so that you’ll find success in study.
